Our Group

The Laboratory of Metal Physics and Technology carries out research and teaching mostly in metals-related fields, and its work spans the whole chain from basic science to technology. Its core competence is the synthesis of new metallic materials and the fundamental description of their microstructure-property relationships. We have also contributed to the development of various technologically and medically relevant products.

Research

Current research focuses in particular on the following areas:

  • Bulk metallic glasses
  • Metallic Biomaterials
  • Magnetic Materials
  • Modern Aspects of Metallurgy

Teaching

Teaching generally focuses on materials physics and fundamentals of materials science.
