Research
Research at the Laboratory of Metal Physics and Technology (LMPT)
involves the synthesis and processing of novel nanostructured materials, bulk metallic glasses, light-metal alloys, and composites. Our group investigates magnetic, structural, mechanical, and thermophysical properties of these materials and probes the fundamental structure-property relationships. We further focus on experiments under extremely high gravitational accelerations, neutron scattering, synchrotron radiation, and process/alloy development for casting and forming. Recent research also concentrates on metal-containing systems for new functionalities and metallic materials for medical applications.
